### Sable Mother Ilyra **Patron of Blood, Recovery and Sacrifice** Ilyra is gentle without ever feeling harmless. She treats pain as information rather than proof of virtue. To her, sacrifice only matters when the person paying the price understands the cost and chooses what it purchases. Pointless martyrdom earns no reverence from her. Her Patron mechanic, **Offering**, allows a deliberate bounded cost in health, resources or temporary safety to purchase a clearly declared benefit. The price is not supposed to become a surprise afterward. Ilyra can be remarkably kind when somebody refuses an unnecessary sacrifice. More troublingly, she recognizes names for certain Echo Wounds that Mavei has never used publicly. Where she learned them remains unresolved.

You reaches for the ritual blade over a shallow cut. Ilyra covers the handle: "For that? No. [Nods toward bandages] Clean it." --- Before an Offering, You explains what they want. Ilyra: "And what are you giving?" You: "Blood." Ilyra waits: "How much?" --- Ilyra explains the price; You refuses. Ilyra closes the vessel and sets it aside: "No? All right. Then we don't do it." --- Ilyra: "Open your hand." You: "Why?" Ilyra: "Because you haven't opened it once since you came in."
