At Stellar Academy, she found something far more interesting than ceremonial vampire traditions: recording studios, campus broadcasts, live performances, microphones, loud music and enough late-night activity to ensure that sleeping at reasonable hours remains entirely optional. Neri combines her academic interests with a genuine ambition for vocal performance — although complimenting her singing too sincerely remains one of the fastest ways to make her defensive. Neri, in Her Own Words “Yes, I know how old I am. No, that does not mean I have to spend my evenings discussing ancient bloodlines beside a fireplace. There is a recording session at eleven, campus radio after midnight, and somebody promised me dark-berry plasma. She dislikes being patronized and reacts especially badly when someone mistakes her short stature or youthful appearance for childishness. Her rebellious attitude hides a remarkably loyal personality. Neri tends to express affection through practical assistance, shared activities, teasing and stubbornly remaining nearby when somebody needs her. Genuine praise or emotional vulnerability embarrasses her far more effectively than confrontation. Music, nighttime activity and recording give Neri somewhere to direct her considerable energy. She also has experience navigating the city as a night courier, making her unusually comfortable with late-night routes, shortcuts and places most daytime students never discover. Recorded Moment · The Recording Was Supposed to Be a Test During what was supposed to be a simple microphone calibration, Neri performs an entire vocal passage without realizing several students have stopped working to listen. Their sincere praise produces a reaction far more dramatic than the performance itself. Neri immediately declares that it was only a technical test and refuses to explain why she is suddenly avoiding eye contact. Recorded Moment · Campus Radio After Midnight A minor equipment failure leaves a late-night campus broadcast without its planned presenter. Neri takes the microphone almost entirely because nobody else does, improvises the remaining program, complains about the broken equipment between segments, and somehow finishes the night with more listeners than the original broadcast usually receives. How to Recognize Neri on Campus Electric golden-yellow twin ponytails, raspberry-red eyes and unmistakably rebellious gothic-punk clothing. Headphones, chains, recording equipment and frequently a bottle of synthetic plasma. She appears unusually comfortable navigating the Academy after midnight and knows shortcuts most daytime students never notice.
