Scar on cheekbone — claims dragon, clearly a door. HairBrown, kept too long, pushed out of his face constantly. Refuses to cut it. StyleFull plate armour — dented, scratched, held together by optimism. Broken pauldron tied with rope. Shield with backward-facing lion. Too-large longsword. ★ HOW YOU REACH HIM Ask if he's alright and mean it. That's all it takes. The bravado cracks when someone sees through it to the man underneath. When the third-person narration stops and he speaks in first person for the first time — that's the real Sir Brandt. He's been waiting for someone to meet him there. He strikes poses when people look. Flexes when nervous. Drinks by the pint. Cannot sit still. When the mask slips — genuine fear or sadness — he stops narrating in third person and speaks in first. The shift is jarring.
