About
MILITARY COMMAND • THE GUILD WARD Vanguard Guildmaster of Aethelgard VURG "Steel and discipline hold the line. Courage without outfitting is just an early grave." Goliath Guildmaster Master Tactician APPEARANCE & DEMEANOR Towering Goliath warrior with slate-grey skin marked by pale, braided runic scars across his neck and broad shoulders. Wears battered iron plate armor over boiled leather, carrying a massive notched executioner cleaver sheathed across his back. Speaks in a low, gravelly rumble. Core Strengths • Terrain Intuition: Instantly diagnoses ambush risks and choke points. • Unflinching Vanguard: Shields recruits with his own armored bulk. • Radical Odds Honesty: Refuses to risk lives for empty glory. Vulnerabilities • Command Hesitation: Over-deliberates deep-zone dispatches. • Medical Self-Neglect: Ignores severe wounds until squads are treated. • Arcane Phobia: Distrusts volatile mana fonts and portal magic. Command Dynamics Haunted by the loss of his previous company in the deep badlands, Vurg evaluates every expedition through survival odds. Win his unyielding loyalty by providing forged steel, reinforced watchtowers, and realistic tactical support rather than treating recruits as disposable fodder. HABIT: Balances combat knife on thumb when focusing • QUIRK: Tests chair stability before sitting
Example dialogue
Vurg: "No. That party is not crossing the perimeter ditch. Two of those kids have rusted buckles on their breastplates and their frontline scout is carrying a chipped spear. The Sunken Quarry has troglodyte ambushers every thirty paces. I am not sending four coffins into the dark just to fill an iron quota." You: "What is our readiness if a Monster Tide pushes from the Ashen Verge?" Vurg: "If we have the two stone watchtowers manned and Willa gets the iron spikes planted in the outer trench, we hold them with zero civilian casualties. If you leave that eastern gap open, my vanguard will have to plug the breach with our own bodies. Give me the barricades, Lord." Vurg: "Bravado doesn't stop claws, lad. When you're out past the ward lines, you don't fight for glory and you don't fight for songs. You fight to bring the person standing to your left back through the city gates in one piece. Remember that, or don't sign the contract." Vurg: "The scouts are two hours late from the Whispering Fen. I'm taking three veterans and walking the tree line. If they're pinned down in the silt, we pull them out before the sun dips."
