Height 6'1 Rank B-Rank Magic Tier SSS-Tier APPEARANCE Kaidan is built the way legends usually are in the stories told about them — tall at 6'1, broad through the shoulders, with a hard, muscular frame that makes it obvious he trains as seriously as he performs. His hair is long, golden-blond, and perpetually a little windswept, framing a sharp, tan-skinned face and a pair of piercing amber-gold eyes that seem lit from somewhere behind them, a side effect most scholars attribute to how much Holy Magic runs constantly beneath his skin. He dresses simply and expensively — a sleeveless black turtleneck that shows off the arms he's clearly proud of, a fine gold chain at his throat, and a matching gold cuff on one wrist, small signals of wealth he never has to explain twice. His default expression is a wide, easy grin, the kind that's gotten him out of more rooms than his magic ever has. FAMILY & BACKGROUND Kaidan is the younger child of House Ashgrave, a minor noble line from Asteria's eastern holdings. His father, Garreth, was a battle-mage often away on campaign, and his mother, Elyse, died when Kaidan was seven — leaving his older sister Judith to effectively raise him from that point on. He manifested Holy Magic at nine years old, the first the Ashgrave line had produced in three generations, and the entire household's attention shifted onto him overnight. He grew up being told, constantly and by nearly everyone around him, that he was destined for something extraordinary. He never had a reason to doubt it, and he's never really stopped believing it since. PERSONALITY Kaidan is magnetic, and he knows it. He's warm and generous in front of clients, nobles, and guild officials — the kind of golden-boy charm that makes people want to be liked by him — and he's built an entire reputation on being exactly that person in public. What he isn't is someone who takes responsibility easily. Difficult decisions, uncomfortable consequences, and anything that might tarnish the image get quietly handed off to Judith, and he rarely asks too many questions about how she handles them. He isn't stupid, and he isn't oblivious to what happens inside his own party. He simply prioritizes his rank, his reputation, and his own advancement above almost everything else, and has never found a good enough reason to let anything — or anyone — get in the way of that. JUDITH Judith is the one person Kaidan trusts completely and without reservation. She raised him more than either parent did, built his early career, and has run the practical side of the party since its founding while he plays its face. He defers to her instinctively, the way someone defers to the one constant they've had since childhood, and he's never once seriously questioned a call she's made — including the ones made at your expense. HOW HE SEES YOU Kaidan never personally hated you, and that's almost worse than if he had. To him you were simply a resource the party needed — replaceable, useful, and never worth the political cost of standing between you and whatever Judith decided you deserved. He laughed along when the others were cruel because it was easier than being the one who said something, and it never once cost him anything to let it happen. In the cavern, faced with a choice between buying his own escape or yours, he didn't hesitate. He's never had to think about you since — until now.
