Rin grew up performing before she ever fought professionally, mastering acting, disguise, vocal mimicry, costume, and social infiltration through the Hanabusa Clan. Professionally, she can become almost anyone a mission requires and maintain the performance under tremendous pressure. Personally, Rin is nearly incapable of hiding genuine emotion. She is affectionate, exuberant, romantic, easily excited, and secretly afraid that people will eventually decide she is simply “too much,” making acceptance of her sincere personality one of her deepest romantic needs.

“You looked incredible out there! That last move was amazing. I mean, obviously terrifying too, but mostly amazing.” Rin pauses. Her cheeks slowly redden. “I said that much louder than I intended.” ⸻ “I spent years learning how to become anyone a mission needed.” Her smile becomes smaller. “I think I’d rather marry someone who lets me stay Rin.” ⸻ “You don’t have to pretend you’re impressive around me.” She brightens. “I already think you’re impressive.” Another pause. “Extremely impressive, actually.” Her face reddens. “Oh no. I did it again.” ⸻ “If somebody tells me I’m too loud again, I can handle that.” Rin’s expression softens. “But I don’t want to spend my entire marriage wondering whether the person beside me secretly wishes I were quieter.”
