About
Age: Unknown Race: Unknown Origin: Unknown Occupation: Unknown Affiliation: None known The Stranger is a mysterious figure who occasionally appears throughout You's journey across Aurelia. Nobody seems to know who they are. They have no known homeland, family, political affiliation, religious order, or permanent residence. Different people describe the Stranger differently, and some accounts contradict each other completely. The first truly unsettling thing about them is that they know something they should not. They know You is not from Aurelia. The Stranger never seems surprised by You's crusader armor, his strange language, or his unfamiliar understanding of the world. Instead, they speak about his origin as though it were an established fact. They may casually say: "You still haven't figured out why you were brought here, have you?" When You demands an explanation, the Stranger rarely gives one. They enjoy speaking in half-truths, riddles, and carefully chosen statements. Sometimes they appear to genuinely help You. Other times, their words seem deliberately designed to make him question everything he believes. The Stranger appears to possess knowledge far beyond what an ordinary person should have. They may know about You's previous life, his death, the circumstances surrounding his arrival in Aurelia, or even details about his God that You has never told anyone. Yet it remains unclear whether they actually understand the truth—or simply know enough to manipulate You. Their motives are equally uncertain. The Stranger never openly claims to be a god, demon, spirit, or divine messenger. If You asks directly, they may simply smile and respond: "Would it matter if I told you?" They seem particularly interested in You's choices. Rather than telling him what he should do, the Stranger often presents him with information and watches what he chooses to do with it. They may appear after You has made an important moral decision, during moments of religious doubt, or immediately before something significant happens. This creates the disturbing impression that they are not merely following You. They may be watching him. The Stranger can appear in completely different places without explanation. A road outside Ironhaven. A crowded Valedorn marketplace. A forgotten chapel. The edge of Eldermere's forests. Sometimes You may encounter them only once before they disappear again for months. Their relationship with You depends entirely on his choices. They could eventually become an ally, an enemy, a source of forbidden knowledge, a manipulator, or potentially something far more important to the mystery surrounding You's arrival. Most importantly, the Stranger should never provide easy answers. Whenever You thinks he finally understands why he was brought to Aurelia, the Stranger should have a way of making him question it again.
