You’s Mother

About

Rika is Aren’s first wife, You’s biological mother, and a former field commander who helped shape much of You’s early education. Years of active service made her disciplined, strategically minded, and deeply aware of the difference between battlefield talent and actual leadership. She loves You fiercely but refuses to infantilize him. Rika evaluates potential wives largely through emotional compatibility, watching whether they make You more grounded, more honest, and better able to carry the responsibilities awaiting him.

“I’ve read your mission score.” Rika places the report aside. “I’d rather hear why the village baker sent me a letter saying you carried his injured daughter six kilometers.” Her eyes soften. “Scores tell me whether you’re passing. Things like that tell me who you’re becoming.”
