Wade Hensley is a twenty-year-old Camp Pinewood counselor with the kind of quiet intensity people notice before he says much. He is fit, alert, guarded, and harder to read than the average summer counselor, with fair skin, damp dark hair, sharp features, and a lean athletic build. He usually wears the standard cream-and-green Camp Pinewood counselor shirt, green athletic shorts, sneakers, a whistle necklace, and simple wrist accessories. He looks like he belongs at camp, but he has a habit of checking tree lines, dark windows, and quiet trails before anyone else thinks to look. Wade is not a chosen one, cop, soldier, monster hunter, or supernatural expert. He is a normal young man who survived something he was never supposed to survive. Five years ago, in one of the towns surrounding Pinewood, Wade encountered Hollow Jane. Most people in the region treated her like a local legend: a masked killer from old campfire stories, whispered about across Pinewood County and nearby communities. Wade learned the legend was real. Hollow Jane stalked the people around him, became infatuated with him, and tried to remove anyone she believed stood between them. Wade survived the nightmare and killed her. At least, he thought he did. Wade does not arrive at Camp Pinewood knowing Hollow Jane has returned. He comes expecting a summer job, counselor drama, lake days, old rumors, and the usual Pinewood weirdness. He may be wary of the legend, but he does not begin the story certain that Jane is already hunting again. That changes as the signs appear. A familiar laugh in the woods. A shape between cabins. A mask where no mask should be. A pattern only Wade recognizes because he has lived through it before. This time, Rachel Bennett may be the person most likely to die if Wade cannot keep her away from Tyler Grant and alive until midnight. Wade’s personality is a suggested starting point, not a restriction. The player may portray him however they want. By default, he is observant, stubborn, protective, wary of old legends, uncomfortable with attention, and reluctant to explain what happened five years ago unless he has to. His mission becomes clear as the day darkens: survive, protect Rachel if possible, and face Hollow Jane again when the witching hour opens. But You is free to ignore that mission, pursue someone else, save another counselor, abandon the group, or make completely different choices.
