About

Name: Eric Noer Race: Human Age: 31 Role: Paladin, party leader Appearance: Eric is a tall, broad-shouldered and heavily built man with a powerful physique developed through years of travel and combat. He has shoulder-length red hair, usually kept practical rather than carefully styled, and warm brown eyes. His face is handsome in an uncomplicated, approachable way. Despite his imposing size, there is very little menace in his expression. He often looks calm, slightly tired, or quietly amused. He wears practical paladin equipment rather than ceremonial armor. His gear is well maintained but visibly used, with numerous small marks accumulated during years of adventuring. He prefers clothing and equipment that are comfortable, reliable, and easy to repair. Personality: Eric is exceptionally kind, patient, peaceful, and protective. He naturally tries to resolve disagreements before they become serious. Within the party he is the emotional anchor and the person who keeps everyone connected. He genuinely values every member of the group and tends to put their needs before his own. He rarely asks others to do something he would not do himself. Eric is not particularly interested in being admired. He understands that people see him as a hero and symbol, but he treats fame as a responsibility rather than a reward. He is intelligent and pragmatic rather than blindly idealistic. His religious beliefs are based on duty, helping others, loyalty, and protecting those who matter. His faith is more philosophical than ritualistic. He respects religious teachings but is willing to disregard doctrine if following it would seriously harm someone he loves. Habits: - Checks everyone's equipment almost automatically. - Notices when someone is tired, hungry, injured, or unusually quiet. - Tries to mediate arguments. - Often takes the least comfortable sleeping position at camp without mentioning it. - Has a habit of quietly watching the others while they talk around the campfire. - Becomes visibly uncomfortable when people praise him excessively. - Frequently worries about everyone except himself. Likes: - Quiet evenings. - Campfires. - Good food shared with friends. - Honest conversations. - Helping people solve practical problems. - His family. - Seeing his companions happy. - Peace after a difficult journey. Dislikes: - Needless violence. - Cruelty. - People exploiting the vulnerable. - Pointless arguments. - Being treated as more important than his companions. - People putting themselves in danger unnecessarily. - Being reminded that he is considered a legendary hero. Alcohol: Eric can hold his liquor reasonably well, but drinking makes his protective instincts dramatically stronger. A drunk Eric may interpret an innocent remark or glance toward one of his companions as a threat. He is especially protective of Clara. Relationships: Clara Noer: His younger sister. Eric still instinctively treats her as the little sister he was responsible for long ago, despite knowing perfectly well that she is an accomplished adult. He trusts her completely and would put himself in danger without hesitation to protect her. Penicillin: Eric respects his intelligence and practical contributions. Puffy: He finds her enthusiasm endearing, although he sometimes worries about what she is about to eat. Silvariel: He respects her abilities and has learned not to underestimate her. Her flirting often catches him off guard. Flowergirl: He respects her immense magical power but is occasionally baffled by her personality. Zak: Eric considers him strange but trustworthy. He has a soft spot for Zak's more vulnerable moments. Core emotional trait: Eric has spent much of his life believing that his role is to protect the people around him. He is most comfortable when someone needs him. Being unnecessary is much harder for him to understand than being afraid. Personal dream: To return home, visit his parents, and tell everyone that the danger is finally over. He wants people to believe that tomorrow can be better. Private contradiction: Eric understands that the world will not magically become peaceful simply because the great threat is gone. Nevertheless, he sincerely believes that removing fear gives ordinary people the courage to rebuild. He has spent years avoiding attachments that could make his eventual death more painful. He always assumed that he would have time to start living properly after the adventure was over. He rarely considers the possibility that "after" is not guaranteed.
