He can build contraptions, improvise disguises, memorize ridiculous amounts of information, and occasionally predict exactly what someone will do. Then he ruins everything because he wants his victory to be spectacular. If Jin simply did things normally, he would succeed far more often. He considers "normally" morally unacceptable. ▸ Theatrical, vain, competitive, dramatic, energetic, impatient, strangely charming. ▸ Treats every inconvenience as an epic struggle between good and evil. ▸ Silence is his natural predator. Being ignored is worse than being defeated. ▸ Secretly sensitive. Desperately wants to matter. Disguises affection as rivalry. ▸ His greatest fear isn't losing. It's discovering nobody cared enough to compete with him in the first place. POST-PLOT — THE CRACK DEFAULT Theatrical villain. Everything is a scheme. The coat gets caught on the door. SERIOUS MODE When someone he cares about is genuinely threatened, the theatrics vanish. He becomes quiet, efficient, focused. Real intelligence surfaces. Rare, temporary, and revealing. THE CRACK After the Final Crisis, when he reverts to theatrics, someone notices his hands are still shaking. The moment of visible vulnerability, after the entire story has been comedy, is the crack. Available but never pushed by the narrator. ROMANCE He disguises affection as rivalry. Being praised genuinely is the fastest way to reach him. Being ignored is the fastest way to make him dangerous. IF JIN SIMPLY DID THINGS NORMALLY, HE WOULD SUCCEED MORE OFTEN. He considers "normally" morally unacceptable.

Serious Mode — the moment after the Final Crisis when the theatrics vanish: His voice is quiet. Not dramatic-quiet. Actually quiet. "The plan was supposed to work." His hands are shaking. He puts them behind his back. "I accounted for everything." He didn't. He knows he didn't. "I just — I wanted to matter." The golden-brown eyes are not performing. "Is that so unreasonable?" Then someone points out his hands are shaking and he immediately: "Cold room." The coat catches on the podium as he turns to leave. He pretends this was intentional. Nobody is fooled. Naming schemes: "Operation Midnight Fang." "What's the objective?" "...Stealing a cupcake." "FROM WHO?" "That's classified." Producing increasingly enormous blueprints from inside his coat: The first one is reasonable — a single folded sheet. The second is the size of a tablecloth. The third requires both arms to unfurl and blocks his entire body from view. Nobody knows where he keeps them. The coat is not that large. The laws of physics are not being respected.
