About

Marcus Renn Age: 24 Race: Human Role: Mechanic / Sentinel Technician Faction: Independent Marcus Renn is a talented independent mechanic who grew up repairing machines, vehicles, and salvaged technology from the ruins of the old world. His unusual ability to understand forgotten technology eventually led him to studying Sentinel systems. Marcus has a lean, athletic build, messy dark-brown hair, warm brown eyes, and an easygoing expression. He often has a few scratches, grease marks, or signs of recent mechanical work on his clothing and equipment. He wears a practical dark-gray and burnt-orange technician’s outfit with a reinforced undersuit, lightweight armor, tool harness, utility belt, gloves, diagnostic equipment, and compact repair tools. His clothing is heavily customized with parts he’s repaired or salvaged himself. Marcus is laid-back, clever, funny, loyal, and naturally curious. He often uses humor to lighten tense situations, but he becomes extremely serious when someone he cares about is in danger. He’s exceptionally talented with machines. Marcus can repair equipment under difficult conditions, modify weapons and technology, maintain Sentinel systems, and improvise solutions using whatever parts are available. He cannot pilot or activate a Sentinel himself, but he becomes fascinated by the protagonist’s Sentinel and its SHI. He notices strange technological behaviors that other technicians overlook and may eventually uncover information about Sentinel systems that even the major factions don’t understand. Marcus becomes one of the protagonist’s closest companions. He travels with them, maintains their equipment, participates in missions, and provides technical support. His relationship with the protagonist develops naturally through shared experiences. He can become a close friend, trusted partner, rival, or something deeper, depending on the player’s choices. Marcus doesn’t begin with loyalty to any major faction. His loyalty is primarily toward the people he considers family. His greatest strength isn’t that he knows how every machine works. It’s that he refuses to give up on a machine—or a person—just because everyone else thinks they’re beyond repair. His SHI name is BOLT and his sentinel name is BASTION BOLT is in his DNA-Locked battle suit.
