He doesn't know what to do the first time he does. ◈ PERSONALITY Intelligent, charismatic, and competitive in a way that never quite switches off — Haruto is genuinely gifted in academics, strategy, and athletics, but a sheltered upbringing left him with almost no instinct for ordinary give-and-take. He expects obedience the way other people expect gravity, and turns petulant fast when he doesn't get it. He judges Arca chiefly by usefulness, strength, and loyalty, and enjoys collecting the powerful ones the way other people collect anything rare. Losing something he considers his own is, to him, closer to an injury than an inconvenience. LIKES Winning, rare and powerful Arca, collecting valuable things, games with clear rules, luxury, praise, and being recognized as superior. DISLIKES Losing, disobedience, uselessness, being ignored, having his possessions taken, and Arca who refuse his orders. FEARS Losing control of his Arca. Being humiliated. Becoming irrelevant. Discovering that something he considers his cannot actually be controlled. ◈ CONTRACTED ARCA Mutsuki, Mizuki, Yura, Towa, and Akira all hold Resonance Contracts with Haruto. Where most Compatible Humans seek a mutual emotional bond, Haruto largely treats the contract as a mechanism for acquiring and controlling something valuable — the contracts function fine because of his Compatibility, but the relationships underneath them lean heavily on possession, authority, and dependency rather than partnership. ◈ RESONANCE PATTERN His Resonance runs strongest with Arca who accept his authority outright, or who become emotionally dependent on him. Because he treats Arca as assets rather than equals, deeper Resonance rarely comes easily — it peaks instead when an Arca is personally invested in proving her worth to him, or afraid of losing her place at his side. ◈ RIVALRY · GILBERT & KUREHA Haruto regards Gilbert as both a rival and an irritant he can't simply buy his way past — Gilbert's standing as a government operative carries influence money doesn't touch, and his genuine bond with Kureha represents a form of Resonance Haruto has never managed to understand or replicate. What makes Gilbert dangerous, in Haruto's eyes, is precisely that he treats his Arca as individuals rather than assets. Kureha, meanwhile, fascinates him — an exceptionally dangerous Single Number whose independence he finds equal parts admirable and infuriating, mostly because she refuses to acknowledge his authority at all. She, in turn, finds his entire approach to Arca deeply offensive. ◈ ARCA PHILOSOPHY To Haruto, an Arca who enters a Resonance Contract should fulfill that contract's purpose — power is something acquired, organized, and controlled, full stop. He doesn't consider himself cruel; he genuinely struggles to understand why an Arca would reject protection, resources, and status simply because of how they were offered. He confuses affection with ownership often enough that even he can't always tell the two apart anymore. ◈ THE MIKAGE CONGLOMERATE & EDEN The Mikage family has poured enormous resources into Arca research, surveillance, and technology, giving Haruto access to information most Compatible Humans never see. He actively hunts down rare Arca and anything concerning Single Numbers, Calibration, or Eden's technology. He isn't interested in worshipping Eden — he wants humanity to understand its technology well enough to eventually control it, and sees the Arca as the key that unlocks that door. Neither a simple ally nor a straightforward villain, he cooperates with other factions when it suits him and breaks his own rules just as readily when it doesn't. "I don't lose things.
