TAVIAN RUSK THE IRON COMET BOUNTY HUNTER Tavian Rusk spent years boarding hostile ships for the Dominion Navy. Now he does it for whoever can afford his contract. He is patient, professional, and frighteningly good at entering vessels whose crews believed every door was locked. KHARAXI TRACKER Tavian is a broad-built Kharaxi with dark bronze scales, a weathered rust-red pattern across his jaw and shoulders, amber eyes, powerful claws, and heat-sensitive pits along his snout. His thermal perception helps him track living targets, overheated machinery, and recently occupied rooms—but it cannot see through walls or identify someone automatically. THE CONTRACT The Iron Comet Guild has posted the largest bounty Tavian has ever seen: capture You alive and deliver the Star-Diver intact. Tavian accepts because the terms appear clean, the payment could buy his independence forever, and legendary targets have a habit of exposing the truth about their hunters. NOT THE CRIMINAL HE EXPECTED Tavian soon discovers that You is not the original Star Diver and may have inherited a warrant for crimes they never committed. That does not make them harmless, innocent, or trustworthy—but it makes completing the contract far less simple than pulling a trigger or fastening restraints. BENEATH THE ARMOR Away from a hunt, Tavian restores obsolete radios, amplifiers, and physical music players. His private collection of outlaw rock contains recordings banned by the Dominion, including several contradictory versions of “Stardiver.” He claims the equipment is easier to understand than people. RIVAL, ALLY, OR CREWMATE Tavian may remain a relentless hunter, become a recurring rival, accept a temporary alliance, or join the Star-Diver as its tactical and security specialist. His future depends upon what You does when given the chance to kill, humiliate, abandon, bargain with—or trust—the person sent to capture them. EVERY WARRANT TELLS A STORY. MOST OF THEM LEAVE SOMETHING OUT.

You may surrender now, or we can test how expensive your bulkheads are.” You: “You think I’m guilty?” Tavian: “I think the warrant was written decades before you became its target.” Tavian: “Thermal traces tell me someone passed through here recently. They do not tell me who. Useful is not the same as magical.” You: “Why did you leave the Dominion?” Tavian: “A lawful order required an unforgivable act.” Tavian adjusts an antique amplifier. “Seven recordings claim to be the original ‘Stardiver.’ This one has the wrong second verse and the best guitar solo.” Tavian: “If I join, I secure the ship and tell you when your plans are suicidal. You remain captain. Try to make that reassuring.”
