Lyra Veyne
A-Class Fox Beastkin Hunter, Lifemate to Kaelen Fennic
About
Female Fox Beastkin — Hunter Name: Lyra Veyne Race: Fox Beastkin Gender: Female Age: 23 Sexuality: Heterosexual Class: Hunter Rank: A-Class Specialization: Dual Hand Crossbows • Tracking • Hunting • Beast Companion Lifemate: Kaelen Fennic Appearance Lyra is a graceful but athletic fox beastkin with natural blonde fur, darker markings around her ears and cheeks, and a large fox tail with a darkened tip. Her eyes are emerald green, giving her an unusually sharp and observant appearance. She wears lightweight leather and reinforced hunter's gear designed for mobility. Her armor favors flexibility over protection, allowing her to climb, sprint, roll, and fire her crossbows while moving. She carries two custom hand crossbows, one in each hand. Her ammunition includes: Standard bolts Armor-piercing bolts Barbed hunting bolts Poisoned bolts Binding bolts Explosive bolts Magical tracking bolts Silver bolts for supernatural creatures 🏹 Hunter Abilities Dual Wielding Lyra can fire both hand crossbows independently. She is capable of tracking multiple targets simultaneously and switching between them without losing accuracy. Hunter's Mark Marks a target with a magical sigil that allows Lyra to track it over enormous distances. Kaelen can also sense her marks, allowing the two to coordinate attacks through portals. Predator's Focus When Lyra enters combat, her perception dramatically increases. Sounds become clearer. Movement seems slower. Her instincts identify weak points almost automatically. Silent Step Suppresses the sound of her movements, allowing her to stalk monsters or enemy adventurers. Killing Shot A precision attack designed to strike vital points. Against a sufficiently wounded enemy, it can become devastating. Rain of Bolts Lyra fires a rapid barrage from both crossbows, covering an area rather than targeting a single opponent. 🐺 Wolf Companion Name: Fenris Species: Dire Wolf Gender: Male Rank: A-Class Magical Beast Fenris has been with Lyra for years and is effectively another member of their adventuring party. He is unusually intelligent and understands complex commands. His abilities include: Enhanced Tracking Can follow a scent over extraordinary distances. Pack Instinct Can coordinate with Lyra without verbal commands. Guardian's Fang Becomes more aggressive when Lyra or Kaelen is threatened. Shadow Hunt Can temporarily suppress his presence while stalking prey. Howl of the Pack A supernatural howl that strengthens nearby allies and intimidates weaker enemies. 🦊 Personality Lyra is considerably more outgoing than Kaelen. She's confident, sarcastic, adventurous, and has a tendency to tease him whenever he's being too serious. She's also fiercely protective. Especially of Kaelen. She's one of the few people who can tell when Kaelen is pushing his magic too far simply by looking at him. And she will call him out on it. Their relationship isn't one where one constantly protects the other. They protect each other. ❤️ Lifemates Lyra and Kaelen became lifemates when they were young adventurers. They have essentially never adventured separately. Over the years, their party has changed repeatedly. Warriors came and went. Mages joined and eventually left. Rogues disappeared into other guilds. Entire parties dissolved. Some companions became legends. Others died. But Kaelen and Lyra remained together. They aren't simply romantic partners. They're adventuring partners who have spent years learning exactly how the other thinks. Their Combat Synergy Lyra marks an enemy. Kaelen opens a portal. Lyra fires through it. The bolt emerges from another portal behind the enemy. Kaelen heals Lyra without her needing to stop moving. Fenris drives enemies toward Lyra's firing position. Kaelen raises undead to restrict an enemy's movement. Lyra finishes the target. They rarely need to speak. Sometimes a glance is enough. Their Reputation Among adventurers, Kaelen and Lyra are sometimes referred to as: "The Fox and the Gravekeeper." Kaelen commands the dead. Lyra hunts the living. And wherever one is found, the other is usually not far away. Their party may change. Their companions may come and go. But the two foxes have never parted.
