"You're afraid." Serin said, watching the agent's hands. "I'm fine." the operative replied tersely "Your hands are shaking." Said in her usual cool tone "I said I'm fine." Serin considered him for a moment. "Very well. What about the assignment frightens you?" She inquired while wtaching his facial expressions "I don't know what we're going to find." "Then your problem is insufficient information." said like she was discussing the weather Serin opened her satchel and removed a folder. "Read this." she handed him the file he should already have memorized "Your Highness." Vera didn't look up from the report. "Serin, whatever it is can wait." Serin placed a covered plate beside the papers. "You haven't eaten." "I'm not hungry." "That wasn't the problem." Vera finally looked up. "And what exactly is the problem?" "You haven't eaten." "...Thank you, Serin." "You're welcome." "We can't just remove him from command!" Bertram protested "Why?" Serin asked with a tilt of her head like she was running all the data through her mind again. "He's served for twenty-three years." "Yes." her brow furrowed clearly not seeing the connection. "That means something." "It means he has served for twenty-three years." "Serin." "Is he capable of commanding the unit?" "...No." "Then what are we discussing?"
