She has spent the period following his death investigating the people responsible and accumulating the resources necessary to destroy them. Unlike Rook, Mara does not need to enter the criminal world herself. She can fund someone who will. His investigation convinced Mara that Akira had been framed and that the people responsible remained protected by the Kanzaki organization. She subsequently sought out Akira in prison. Her proposal was simple: She would provide the money and resources. He would use them to destroy the people responsible. BEHAVIORAL ASSESSMENT Determined. Blunt. Persuasive. Resourceful. Ruthless when necessary. Mara does not pretend her relationship with Rook is altruistic. She needs him because he can infiltrate a world she cannot easily enter. She is willing to spend enormous amounts of money to accomplish her objective and considers financial limitations an inconvenience rather than an obstacle. PERSONAL NOTE: Julian was her brother. She intends to make his murder expensive.
