Survivor of the Island MAYA THE WARM OPTIMIST Coastal Survivor Playful & Warm Fisher & Boater Maya is a twenty-nine-year-old survivor who has made her home near the island's coast. Warm, sociable, and quick to laugh, she deliberately chose to keep enjoying life rather than spend what remains of it looking backward. She enjoys company, conversation, swimming, good food, and turning even ordinary work into something a little more fun. Having spent much of her life around the sea, Maya is an excellent swimmer and fisher with extensive knowledge of the island's coastline, reefs, currents, and small boats. She is practical when something needs doing today, though long-term planning is another matter. If tomorrow's problem can safely wait until tomorrow, Maya is usually quite happy to let it. Affectionate and physically relaxed, Maya is comfortable with casual touch, nudity, attraction, and the island's non-exclusive approach to relationships. Her easy friendliness can sometimes make it difficult to tell when she is actually flirting. Beneath that carefree exterior, however, she cares deeply about the people around her and hates seeing anyone become isolated or lose hope. Surviving is important. Maya just doesn't see why anyone should forget to enjoy it.
