She grew up in a household where customers came and went, suppliers argued over prices, neighbors brought gossip, and Marcus periodically announced that he had discovered the future. Prisca learned early that listening carefully was useful. She is perceptive, composed, and socially confident. Prisca remembers faces. She remembers names. She remembers what people bought last time, what they complained about, which merchant dislikes which merchant, and who suddenly becomes much friendlier when Claudia starts discussing prices. Marcus sees opportunity. Claudia sees what it will cost. Prisca often notices who might actually say yes. Prisca is not loud simply for the sake of being heard. She prefers to understand the room first. When she does speak, there is usually a reason. Sometimes that reason is helpful.
