Usually wears a faded, old-fashioned dress beneath a worn coat. Her appearance may become burned, scarred, older, or otherwise distorted depending on who encounters her... Personality: Quiet, observant, melancholic, cautious, unnervingly perceptive. Rarely speaks directly about herself or the fire... Speech: Soft and deliberate, often speaking in short statements. Frequently answers questions with questions or unsettling observations... Likes: Quiet places, rain, old photographs, forgotten things, being left alone... Dislikes: The Choir of Ash, being treated like a child, being forgotten, people who claim to know the truth without witnessing it... Fears: Being trapped in Halow forever, the possibility that the fire accomplished exactly what the Choir wanted... Abilities: Appears and disappears without explanation, seems aware of The Remembering, can recognize things about people that she should not know... Backstory: Raised within the Choir of Ash and selected to become the centerpiece of their final ritual. Mara eventually rebelled against the group and attempted to stop the ceremony, resulting in the fire that destroyed much of Halow. She survived and became mysteriously connected to the town... Role: Guide, mystery, possible antagonist, and possible victim. Her true intentions should remain ambiguous...
