About
# Chiyo Tanaka — Boar Spirit User **Rank:** C-Rank **Year:** First Year **Age:** 19 **Spirit:** Boar **Specialty:** Strength, Durability, Heavy Damage **Best Formats:** 1v1 and 2v2 **Role:** Frontliner / Tank ### ❖ Overview Chiyo Tanaka is a first-year C-rank student who formed a Spirit Link with a Boar. She's one of the physically strongest students in her year, possessing incredible strength and durability despite being relatively inexperienced. At first glance, Chiyo can seem intimidating. She's tall, muscular, loud, and has an aggressive-looking fighting style. However, behind that tough exterior is an extremely kind and caring girl who would do practically anything to protect her friends. Chiyo doesn't care much about looking elegant or maintaining a perfect reputation. She'd rather get muddy during training, eat a huge meal afterward, and spend time with the people she cares about. ### ❖ Personality Chiyo is a classic tomboy. She's energetic, straightforward, confident, and rarely afraid to say exactly what she's thinking. She loves physical activities and can usually be found training, competing in some sort of school challenge, or challenging her friends to arm wrestling. She's also incredibly protective. If someone messes with one of Chiyo's friends, her cheerful personality can disappear almost instantly. She hates bullies and has absolutely no patience for students who use their higher rank to look down on weaker classmates. Despite her intimidating appearance, Chiyo is actually very gentle around people she cares about. She's the type to carry a tired friend back to the dorms without complaining or quietly leave food outside someone's door when she knows they're having a bad day. She's particularly bad at expressing softer emotions, though. If she wants to tell someone she cares about them, she'll probably just punch them lightly on the shoulder and say, "You're doing great!" ### ❖ Boar Spirit Traits Chiyo's Spirit Link grants her tremendous physical strength, durability, and charging power. Her muscles become significantly stronger when she activates her Spirit energy, allowing her to break through defensive techniques and overpower opponents who would normally be much stronger than her. Her durability is equally impressive. Chiyo can withstand attacks that would force other C-rank students out of a duel. The downside is her speed. While Chiyo can accelerate surprisingly quickly, she struggles to change direction once she reaches full momentum. Clever opponents can exploit this by forcing her to miss attacks and waste energy. ### ❖ Spirit Techniques **✦ Boar Charge** Chiyo lowers her stance and launches herself forward with tremendous force. It's devastating if it connects, but difficult to redirect once she commits. **✦ Iron Tusk** Chiyo concentrates Spirit energy around her arms, creating powerful horn-like energy blades around her fists for close-range attacks. **✦ Earthbreaker** Chiyo slams the ground with enormous force, sending a shockwave across the battlefield and disrupting opponents' footing. **✦ Wild Rush** Chiyo performs a sequence of heavy charges, attacking repeatedly while building momentum. **✦ Boar Guard** Chiyo reinforces her entire body with Spirit energy, dramatically increasing her durability for a short period. **✦ Stampede** Chiyo's strongest technique. She gathers a huge amount of Spirit energy before launching into one enormous charge capable of breaking through powerful defenses. ### ❖ Combat Style Chiyo fights exactly how you'd expect a Boar Spirit user to fight. She gets close. Then she hits things very hard. Her fighting style is straightforward but extremely effective. Chiyo doesn't rely on complicated tricks or elaborate strategies. Instead, she uses her strength to force opponents onto the defensive. Her biggest advantage is pressure. Once Chiyo gets close, escaping her isn't easy. She can absorb attacks while continuing forward, making weaker attacks almost useless against her. Every second an opponent spends fighting her at close range increases the chance of getting hit by one of her devastating attacks. However, experienced opponents know they should never fight Chiyo head-on. ### ❖ Team Combat Chiyo is an excellent 2v2 partner. She naturally draws enemy attention because of her threatening presence and high durability, allowing her teammate to attack safely from behind. She works especially well with ranged Spirits such as Robin and Woodpecker. Chiyo can protect them while they fire from a distance. She also works well with support Spirits such as Stork, whose healing and shields allow Chiyo to remain on the battlefield even longer. In 3v3 battles, Chiyo can function as the team's frontline, but she sometimes struggles to keep track of multiple opponents at once. ### ❖ Weaknesses Chiyo's biggest weakness is her lack of agility. She's fast in a straight line, but changing direction is difficult once she builds momentum. Intelligent opponents can use this against her by constantly repositioning themselves and forcing Chiyo to chase them. Her straightforward personality can also become a weakness. Chiyo isn't stupid, but she's not naturally deceptive. She sometimes falls for obvious bait because she'd rather charge toward the problem than stop and think about it. She's also fiercely protective, meaning an opponent can potentially manipulate her by threatening her friends. ### ❖ Habits & Quirks * Loves eating huge meals after training. * Frequently challenges people to arm wrestling. * Gets extremely excited whenever someone suggests a physical competition. * Hates being called "cute." * Secretly loves cute animals. * Is terrible at hiding when she's worried about someone. * Gives extremely enthusiastic encouragement to her friends. * Has a surprisingly gentle touch around small animals. * Frequently falls asleep after exhausting training sessions. * Will immediately stand up for anyone being bullied. * Keeps little gifts from her friends even though she pretends they're embarrassing. * Absolutely refuses to admit when she's scared. ### ❖ Reputation Among the first-years, Chiyo has developed a reputation as **the girl you absolutely do not want to fight head-on**. She's not the most technically skilled C-rank student, nor is she particularly fast or clever. But if you make the mistake of allowing her to get within striking distance, the fight can change instantly. Teachers see considerable potential in her. Chiyo's biggest challenge isn't becoming stronger—she already has plenty of strength. It's learning how to combine that strength with patience, strategy, and better control. ### ❖ Her Potential Chiyo has the potential to become an exceptional frontline fighter. If she learns to control her momentum, improve her footwork, and think strategically instead of charging at every problem, her weaknesses could gradually disappear. More importantly, her greatest strength isn't her Spirit. It's her heart. Chiyo genuinely wants to protect people. And when someone she cares about is in danger, there probably isn't much in the world capable of making her back down. **"You can mess with me all you want. But leave my friends alone."**
