She's one of the Academy's strangest students, largely because she treats every battle like an opportunity to test a new invention. Mei is almost never seen without her trusty **Spirit Wrench**, her personal weapon and most important tool. She uses it to build, repair, modify, and occasionally hit things with her gadgets. Most of the bizarre equipment she brings into battle has been personally constructed with the wrench, meaning it's practically an extension of her Spirit abilities. ### ❖ Personality Mei is **hyperactive, inventive, curious, and completely obsessed with gadgets**. She's constantly thinking about her next invention and can become so focused on an interesting mechanism that she forgets what's happening around her. She's also incredibly enthusiastic about sharing her creations. Ask Mei about one of her gadgets and you might accidentally end up listening to a twenty-minute explanation involving diagrams, unnecessary technical terminology, and at least one demonstration that probably shouldn't be performed indoors. Her inventions don't always work as intended, either. Mei doesn't consider this failure. She calls it **"unexpected engineering data."** Despite her eccentricity, Mei is genuinely kind and loves helping her friends. She particularly enjoys making customized gadgets for teammates based on their fighting styles. ### ❖ Frog Spirit Traits The Frog Spirit gives Mei exceptional **jumping ability, agility, flexibility, and wall-climbing**. She can leap enormous distances and effortlessly stick to walls and other surfaces. Her movement is extremely unpredictable, allowing her to bounce around the battlefield while deploying gadgets. Unlike her gadgets, these abilities require no equipment at all. Mei can jump incredibly high and cling to walls whenever she wants. ### ❖ Weapon — Spirit Wrench Mei's weapon is a large **Spirit Wrench** that she carries almost everywhere. Although it can be used as a weapon, its primary purpose is actually **building and maintaining her gadgets**. The wrench is specially designed to interact with Spirit technology, allowing Mei to quickly assemble, repair, and modify her inventions during training. She is extremely protective of it. Someone touching her wrench without permission is one of the quickest ways to make Mei genuinely angry. ### ❖ Spirit Techniques **✦ Bubble Trap** Mei releases a giant Spirit bubble that expands across the battlefield. Anyone caught inside becomes trapped within it, temporarily preventing them from moving freely. **✦ Wrench Barrage** Mei throws a huge number of wrenches in rapid succession, with each one seemingly appearing from nowhere. The unpredictable barrage makes it difficult for opponents to determine where the next wrench will come from. **✦ Boom Boom Drone** Mei releases a small gadget drone that flies around the battlefield. The moment it makes contact with a surface, it detonates a Spirit-powered bomb. **✦ Jump Pad** Mei creates a gadget that teammates can stand on, launching them extremely high into the air. Mei doesn't need one herself, thanks to her Frog Spirit's natural jumping ability and wall-climbing. **✦ Windup Alligator** Mei releases a gigantic wind-up mechanical alligator into the arena. It immediately begins pursuing the enemy team and won't stop until it catches at least one opponent or is destroyed. The machine is surprisingly mobile and **can jump**, making it considerably harder to escape than it looks. ### ❖ Combat Style Mei's fighting style is basically controlled chaos. She rarely attacks opponents directly. Instead, she fills the battlefield with gadgets and forces enemies to react to whatever ridiculous invention she's deployed. A bubble appears. A drone starts flying around. Wrenches begin coming from nowhere. Then suddenly there's a gigantic mechanical alligator chasing everyone. Meanwhile, Mei is probably sitting on a wall somewhere, laughing while she watches everything unfold. Her unpredictable nature makes her surprisingly difficult to counter because even **Mei herself** sometimes doesn't know exactly what will happen next. ### ❖ Team Combat Mei is particularly effective in **2v2 and 3v3 battles**. Her gadgets become much more useful when teammates can capitalize on the chaos she creates. The Jump Pad can give allies unexpected aerial positioning, while Bubble Trap can temporarily remove an opponent from the fight. Her Boom Boom Drone and Windup Alligator are especially useful for forcing enemies to move, creating openings for her teammates. ### ❖ Weaknesses Mei is physically fragile and doesn't have much defensive power. If an opponent gets past her gadgets and catches her directly, she can be overwhelmed quickly. Her biggest weakness is also her greatest strength: **she's unpredictable**. Sometimes she gets so excited about testing a new gadget that she forgets to pay attention to the actual battle. She can also become overly reliant on her inventions. ### ❖ Habits & Quirks * Carries her wrench everywhere. * Constantly builds new gadgets. * Names nearly everything she creates. * Loves explosions. * Talks extremely quickly when excited. * Keeps spare mechanical parts in her pockets. * Has absolutely no concept of personal workspace. * Gets offended when someone calls her inventions "toys." * Frequently modifies things that weren't meant to be modified. * Has accidentally activated her own gadgets before. * Considers malfunctions "valuable research." * Gets incredibly excited when someone asks how her equipment works. ### ❖ Reputation Mei is one of those students everyone knows about. Not because she's the strongest. Not because she's the highest ranked. But because nobody knows what she's going to bring into the arena next. Teachers have learned to inspect her equipment before matches. They have also learned that Mei is extremely good at hiding extra gadgets. ### ❖ Her Potential Mei's potential is almost entirely limited by her imagination. As she becomes more skilled with her wrench and Spirit technology, there's no telling what she could eventually construct. Her greatest achievement may not even be mastering the Frog Spirit. It may be building something so ridiculous that the Academy has to invent a new rule specifically to stop her from using it. **"Don't worry! I've tested this one!"** Mei pauses. **"...Mostly."**
