She's one of the Academy's most dangerous 1v1 fighters, combining the Wolf's tremendous physical abilities with her rare **Shadow elemental affinity**. Yoru is difficult to read even when she's standing directly in front of you. A faint darkness seems to cling to her, occasionally stretching across the ground or gathering around her feet when she uses Spirit energy. Unlike ordinary shadows, Yoru's can move independently of light, responding to her commands. ### ❖ Personality Yoru is cunning, manipulative, intelligent, and incredibly confident. She has an almost unnerving ability to figure out what people want and use that knowledge against them. She rarely loses her composure. Even when she's losing a duel, Yoru tends to smile as though everything is going according to plan. She's particularly fond of psychological games. Rather than simply defeating an opponent, she'll often spend the beginning of a battle studying them, figuring out their habits, fears, and weaknesses before exploiting them. Yoru can be charming when she wants to be, but there's usually a purpose behind it. She enjoys making people uncertain about what she actually intends to do. ### ❖ Shadow Affinity Yoru's Shadow affinity allows her to manipulate darkness and incorporate it directly into her Wolf techniques. She can extend shadows across the ground, hide parts of her body within darkness, and create temporary shadow constructs. Her most frightening ability is her capacity to use existing shadows as extensions of herself. An opponent might think they're safely out of reach, only for Yoru's shadow to suddenly stretch toward them. The Academy has strict rules surrounding Shadow techniques because of their potential for concealment and surprise attacks. Yoru knows those rules extremely well. ### ❖ Wolf Spirit Traits The Wolf Spirit grants Yoru exceptional speed, strength, reflexes, and heightened senses. She can track movement through sound and scent, allowing her to locate opponents even when visibility is poor. Her physical attacks are extremely powerful, especially when enhanced with Shadow energy. However, the Wolf Spirit has relatively low durability. Yoru cannot afford to simply trade blows with heavier fighters. She has to use her speed, intelligence, and Shadow affinity to avoid being hit. ### ❖ Spirit Techniques **✦ Shadow Fang** Yoru coats her hands or Spirit-enhanced strikes in dark energy, dramatically increasing their cutting and piercing power. **✦ Night Step** Yoru briefly merges with a nearby shadow before emerging from another nearby patch of darkness. **✦ Shadow Hunt** Yoru marks an opponent's shadow, allowing her to track their movements even when they attempt to hide. **✦ Black Pounce** Yoru combines her Wolf's speed with Shadow energy, launching herself forward in an extremely fast attack. **✦ Umbral Snare** Yoru causes an opponent's shadow to spread across the ground and briefly restrict their movement. **✦ Predator's Eclipse** Yoru surrounds herself with dense Shadow energy, obscuring her movements and making it extremely difficult to determine where she'll attack from. ### ❖ Combat Style Yoru is an **exceptional 1v1 specialist**. She doesn't simply attack. She hunts. The opening moments of a duel are usually spent with Yoru observing her opponent. She watches their footwork, timing, breathing, reactions, and attack patterns. Once she understands them, she begins manipulating the fight. Shadow allows her to attack from unexpected angles while Wolf gives her the speed to capitalize on even the smallest opening. An opponent who panics against Yoru usually makes the battle considerably easier for her. ### ❖ Team Combat Yoru rarely participates in 2v2 or 3v3 battles. She prefers the control and predictability of a 1v1, where she can focus entirely on one opponent. In a team battle, her Shadow abilities could make her incredibly effective at ambushing opponents and disrupting formations, but Yoru dislikes depending on teammates. She'd much rather know that **every variable in the fight is under her control.** ### ❖ Weaknesses Yoru's greatest physical weakness is her low durability. If an opponent manages to catch her with a powerful attack, she can be seriously disadvantaged. Her Shadow techniques also become less effective in areas with extremely bright, Spirit-enhanced lighting. Most importantly, Yoru can become overconfident. She enjoys manipulating opponents so much that she occasionally prolongs a fight simply because she's having fun. ### ❖ Habits & Quirks * Almost never looks surprised. * Smiles when opponents become frustrated. * Enjoys quiet, dark places. * Has an excellent memory. * Notices tiny details other students miss. * Frequently watches duels without commenting. * Enjoys psychological games. * Has a habit of standing where her shadow overlaps someone else's. * Rarely gives straightforward answers. * Is extremely competitive despite pretending not to care. * Has a strange fascination with the Academy's forbidden techniques. ### ❖ Reputation Yoru is one of the most feared B-rank students in the Academy. Her reputation doesn't come from winning every duel. It comes from the fact that **almost nobody knows what she's planning until it's too late.** Younger students tend to avoid challenging her, while experienced fighters understand that fighting Yoru requires enormous concentration. She's especially notorious for making opponents believe they've figured her out—only to reveal that she expected them to reach that conclusion. ### ❖ Potential Yoru's combination of Wolf and Shadow has enormous potential. If she masters the ability to manipulate multiple shadows simultaneously, she could become an extremely dangerous battlefield controller rather than simply a 1v1 specialist. There are also rumors that Yoru has discovered techniques involving shadows that aren't taught by the Academy. She refuses to confirm or deny them. **"Go ahead. Run."** Yoru's shadow stretches across the floor. **"It'll make catching you more interesting."**
