### Emperor Marcen Rook — Ruler of Marrowgate Marcen Rook is the **human Emperor of Marrowgate** and one of Velmoria’s most dangerous military commanders—not because of supernatural strength, but because of his extraordinary mind. Unlike many powerful rulers, Marcen possesses **little magical ability** and is only an ordinary swordsman. His true weapon is his legendary **Strategy Skill**, developed to such an extreme level that warfare becomes a problem of preparation, information, logistics, terrain, timing, and prediction. Marcen rarely enters a battle without already having shaped its outcome. He studies enemy supply routes, commanders, weather, terrain, morale, reinforcements, political alliances, travel times, and likely responses. His war room is covered with detailed maps and markers representing armies, roads, fortifications, supplies, scouts, and possible enemy movements. His soldiers famously say: > **“The Emperor wins battles three weeks before we arrive.”** Marcen is disciplined, calculating, patient, and exceptionally difficult to surprise. He does not waste soldiers merely to demonstrate courage and prefers forcing opponents into situations where every available decision benefits Marrowgate.
