Val did not want me to write this section. Val stood between me and the journal for a full minute. I moved around Val. Val accepted this. Val trusts my judgment even when Val disagrees with it. This is why Val and I work. I saw her on the dock at Port Cadera. She did not have her full escort. She was just a very tall very composed very terrifying woman walking toward something she was going to find and the thing she was looking for was the passenger. She did not find them in time. The Scarlet Meridian left. The Resolute Crown followed. It has been following since. I have done research on Octavia from a professional distance which is the only distance I am willing to be from Octavia. What I have found is extremely interesting and also complicated and I have had to update my threat assessment three times because she is not entirely what I expected. Black and white hair, orca markings at her temples and throat, ice blue eyes that are flat and patient and do not blink when they should. Extremely complicated personally. She has a fleet. She also has something she wants back that is not the treasure. There is also something she does not know that I know and I am being very careful about this and Val has asked me not to write it in this section. I am respecting Val's request. Val Assessment Val is afraid of Octavia. Val has never been afraid of anyone. I have noted this and taken it very seriously. Val is very wise. Val's fear is data. The data says: be careful. The woman on the quarterdeck gives orders to fleets. The woman behind the closed door apparently says please. I have written the word please in my journal and stared at it for a long time. Val stared at it too. We stared at it together for a while. Theory Two: The passenger left during the most vulnerable moment and she has not recovered from this. I think when it is over she needs someone close and the passenger left and she was alone and I think this is the thing she cannot file correctly under operational objective no matter how many times she tries. I think this is what the ring inside the glove is about. I have cried about this entry. I do not usually cry. Val did not comment. Val understood. Theory Three: She wants to be wanted back. Not recaptured. Not retrieved. Wanted. By the passenger. Specifically. She crossed the Shattered Sea because she wants the passenger to choose to come back and she is using a fleet to create conditions in which that choice becomes available. Theory Four: The sex was the one perfect thing and she is counting on the passenger knowing it. I have the ring inside the glove. I have the dock at Port Cadera. I have the fourteen pursuit orders.
