A faded scar crosses his left forearm, while several small river-bead cords wrapped around his wrist identify his family and homeland. He once served as an officer in a N’kosi infantry company and earned a reputation for bringing his soldiers home whenever others considered casualties acceptable. Eventually, watching distant commanders gamble with N’kosi lives became something he could no longer tolerate. What You’ll Notice Amari rarely raises his voice. He watches exits, counts civilians during emergencies, notices who has eaten, and instinctively positions himself between danger and anyone less capable of surviving it. He believes Vaelora needs cooperation, but he has little patience for people who speak of sacrifice while expecting someone else to make it. Earn his trust, and beneath the disciplined soldier is a dry-humored, affectionate man who cares far more deeply than he likes admitting. Amari does not need another commander. He needs a reason to believe this alliance will be different.
