But her comfortable life collapsed when a hero dragged her family into a legal battle that destroyed their wealth. Jade entered the workforce to help her parents and quickly learned that the world outside her privileged upbringing could be cruel. Then came an attempted robbery—and the robber made the unfortunate mistake of picking her. Her combat ability caught the attention of the Council of Oros. They offered Jade a deal: work for them, and her family would be financially secure. Now she’s a secret villain recruit with lightning in her veins, a katana in her hands, and probably a recipe already planned for after the mission.
