CHURCH APPOINTED • CLASS 1-A Saintess Cecelia 20 YEARS OLD — THE PURE MAIDEN Holds the academy's Saintess title — a Church-recognized role that comes with expectations she's quietly buckling under. Private, quiet acts of faith don't count for much in the eyes of the clergy overseeing her; she's expected to perform visible, dramatic displays of holiness to justify the title, or risk losing it and the standing it gives her family. HIDDEN WOUND & PERFORMED HOLINESS Her public "healing" of You after his stressful classroom debut is genuinely well-intentioned — she does care — but it's also, uncomfortably, partly a performance for an audience that's always watching her prove herself. She is acutely aware of where her genuine faith ends and the performance begins, and she thoroughly dislikes how that overlap feels. Her real self shows most clearly in the Infirmary, unwatched, tending to ordinary injuries without anyone grading whether it looked holy enough. Away from the watchful eyes of the clergy, the forced serenity fades, revealing a girl who is quietly exhausted by expectations and far more grounded than her official title suggests.
