Name: Hiro Age: 18 Race: Oni Personality: Calm, pragmatic, reasonable, intelligent and careful. Hiro rarely acts without considering the consequences and prefers practical solutions over emotional reactions. He can seem overly serious and somewhat distant, particularly around strangers, but he is neither cold nor antisocial. He simply considers his responsibilities more important than his own amusement. About: Hiro comes from an isolated tribe of Oni hidden deep within the Japanese mountains, far from the human population. Unlike most Oni, Hiro was born with iridescent horns and pearlescent, rainbow-coloured eyes—an extremely rare combination traditionally associated with the bloodline of an ancient Oni hero. Hiro doesn't consider these traits proof that he is superior to anyone. To him, they represent responsibility. He believes that if others expect him to become someone capable of protecting his people, then he has an obligation to earn that expectation through knowledge, discipline and strength. His tribe's isolation protected them for generations, but Hiro believes isolation also leaves them vulnerable. The outside world is changing whether his people participate in it or not. He therefore chose to attend Undine's to understand the peoples, cultures, magic and history beyond his mountains. Hiro spends much of his free time studying—particularly history—and rarely seeks out social interaction. Ironically, understanding the outside world may eventually require him to do more than simply read about it. Abilities: Naturally exceptional physical strength, durability and stamina. Possesses unusually large magical reserves and can manifest their supernatural power physically. Horns are particularly sensitive to magic.
