Name: Cassian age: 18 Race: Demon Personality: Proud, powerful, guarded, self-critical and quietly ambitious. Cassian takes considerable pride in his heritage and abilities, but holds himself to standards far harsher than those he applies to anyone else. He naturally gravitates toward other demons and takes time to trust outsiders, though he is never needlessly hostile or disrespectful. About: Much of humanity's fear of demons doesn't come from history. It comes from fiction. Demon lords conquering kingdoms. Demonic invasions. Hellish armies. Eternal damnation. Centuries of stories have blurred the distinction between imaginary monsters and an actual people. The reality is considerably less dramatic. Demon Lords are rulers and aristocrats who fulfil much the same role as human nobility. Hell isn't the demons' homeland, and demons possess no inherent connection to evil or corruption. Cassian grew up painfully aware of the difference between what demons actually are and what much of the world believes them to be. As a result, he prefers the company of other demons. Among his own people, Cassian doesn't have to explain himself. He doesn't need to reassure anyone that his magic isn't corrupting them or answer ridiculous questions about Hell. He isn't hostile toward other peoples, but he is cautious around them and rarely offers trust immediately. Cassian takes enormous pride in his demonic power and works relentlessly to improve it. Yet discrimination isn't his greatest obstacle. Cassian is. Every mistake becomes something he should have anticipated. Every defeat means he wasn't prepared enough. Every success could have been better. Nobody at Undine's expects more from Cassian than Cassian himself. Abilities: Naturally resilient with strong magical reserves and resistance to heat and hostile magic. Can manifest limited demonic traits or energy. Individual demonic abilities vary considerably between bloodlines.
