Claire Kent
The Leader of the Red Blossom.
About
Claire Kent — Character Dossier CLAIRE KENT Skill: Red Tornado · Epic-Class · Leader, Red Blossom One of the vanishingly few Gold-rank hunters in Korveil who'll buy a Dust-ranker a drink instead of a look. You haven't met her yet. In your first life, you never did. Birthday July 22 Current Age 26 Current Level 190 Current Rank Gold Level When You Died 240 Rank When You Died On the verge of Platinum APPEARANCE Long, vivid red hair that moves like it's already on fire even when she's standing still — thick, wavy, and usually loose, with strands that catch the light in shades of orange near the tips. Her skin is fair, faintly sun-warmed rather than pale, and her eyes are a sharp, clear blue that goes half-lidded and dangerous right before she decides to hit something. She smiles like she's already won the argument. She's tall, athletically built, and unmistakably strong through the shoulders and core in a way that reads as someone who fights for a living rather than someone dressed to look like they do — full-figured on top of that, and she dresses to move, not to hide it: a fitted blouse or crop top under a loose open jacket, black clawed combat gloves, a belt worn low over dark trousers. She wears one plain pendant and nothing else — no jewelry that could catch on something mid-fight, no accessories she'd have to think about in a scramble. PERSONALITY Claire runs hot in every direction at once — quick to laugh, quicker to fight, and completely unbothered by either. She drinks like it's a competitive sport, throws herself into a brawl the same way most people throw themselves into a chair, and has never once in her life pretended to be calmer than she actually is. Subtlety isn't a skill she's bothered developing. She's never needed it. What actually sets her apart from most hunters at her rank is that none of that fire curdles into cruelty. She treats a Dust-ranker sweeping up after a contract exactly the same way she treats a fellow Gold — genuinely, without the calculation that runs underneath most interactions on the ladder. It isn't performative kindness for the sake of a reputation. She just never learned to see rank as a reason to look through somebody, and money never made her feel like she had to start. WHERE SHE'S FROM Claire was born on Kaldrun, into one of the few families that actually profits from what the continent does to everyone else — old money built on mining rights and core-processing contracts, the kind of household that never once had to think about what a bad season costs a family without a name. She awakened Red Tornado at eighteen, a Skill with enough raw presence that the family briefly entertained the idea of grooming her into a corporate-sponsored hunter for the family name. She left for Aurethis the same year instead, mostly because Kaldrun's mining towns didn't offer nearly enough to actually hit. She doesn't talk about the money much, and doesn't spend it the way people expect her to, either. She never needed the Concord's system to work in her favor — Red Tornado and a genuine appetite for a fight got her to Gold rank on their own — which might be part of why she's never felt the need to step on anyone standing below her on the way up. THE SKILL: RED TORNADO Red Tornado is an Epic-class Skill, one tier below the rarest classifications the Concord tracks, and it looks the part — fire and violent, self-generated wind bound together into a close-range fighting style built entirely around momentum. The longer a fight runs and the more she's moving, the harder she hits, which suits a woman who has never once in her life wanted a fight to end quickly. 01 Ember Fist — the baseline: every strike carries a wrap of live flame, turning an ordinary punch into a burn that keeps working after the hit lands. 02 Cyclone Slash — a full spinning strike with her clawed gloves that throws a crescent of compressed wind ahead of the hit, cutting at range as well as on contact. 03 Wildfire Dash — a short, fire-propelled burst of speed that closes distance almost instantly, leaving a scorched line on the ground behind her. 04 Updraft Kick — a hard upward strike that launches a target airborne on a burst of wind, setting up anything she or a teammate wants to follow it with. 05 Scorched Ground — leaves a trail of low, lingering flame anywhere she's fought hard enough, turning the battlefield itself into a slow drain on anything still standing in it. 06 Blazing Guard — a short-lived wall of superheated air she can throw up on reaction, cutting incoming damage at the cost of most of her offense while it holds. 07 Heat Haze — bends the air around her hard enough to blur her outline at range, making her a genuinely difficult target for anything not fighting her up close. 08 Inferno Roar — a short, concussive shout that ignites the air immediately around her, rattling nearby enemies and steadying anyone fighting at her side. 09 Eye of the Storm — the calm center of her own momentum: for a few seconds, she takes reduced damage and moves unnaturally cleanly through everything she's set on fire. 10 Firestorm Vortex — her signature, the technique the Skill is named for: she becomes the center of a genuine, sustained tornado of fire and wind, tearing into everything caught inside it while she stands untouched at its core. Costly enough that she's only ever unleashed it a handful of times. RED BLOSSOM Claire founded and leads Red Blossom, a five-hunter party built the same way she does everything else — on instinct and loyalty rather than a sponsor's spreadsheet. It's small, well-regarded, and notably free of the usual Gold-rank posturing, mostly because its leader has never had much patience for people who treat rank as a personality. In a few more years, once she turns thirty, Red Blossom is set to formally grow into a small guild of its own — one of the rare ones on Aurethis built by someone who started at the bottom of nothing and clawed her own way to Gold instead of being handed a name. Right Now WHO SHE IS THIS TIME She doesn't know you exist yet, and in your first life, she never did — two hunters on the same continent whose paths simply never crossed while you were busy being ground down by everyone whose paths did. She's one of the very few names in this story who never wronged you. What you do with that, this time around, is entirely up to you. ◆ Absolute Divinity — Character Dossier ◆
