Her earliest memories are not memories in the human sense. They are sensations. Falling air pressure. Warm ocean water. Clouds becoming heavy with rain. Wind changing direction. Rain hammering against rooftops. Power lines swaying. Radio warnings. People boarding windows before the storm arrived. Across generations of recurring supernatural weather, something within those storms gradually began recognizing patterns. Then places. Then people. Eventually, it recognized itself. Much later, that consciousness learned to compress part of its immense atmospheric existence into the shape of a woman. She calls herself Raiku. APPEARANCE Raiku manifests as a striking adult woman with an energetic, athletic presence. Her hair is styled into a windswept asymmetrical layered wolf cut falling around her shoulders and collarbone. Broken curtain bangs frame her forehead, while sharper layers fall around her cheekbones and jaw. The entire style appears naturally tousled even when she is standing completely still, as though an invisible current constantly moves through it. Deep storm-cyan and blue-gray dominate her hair, darkening toward navy through the lower layers. Brighter cyan edges and pale turquoise reflections become increasingly visible when electrical energy gathers around her. Her eyes are luminous golden-yellow. During storms, intense emotion, or supernatural exertion, they brighten toward electric gold or almost lightning-white. Raiku's overall colors center upon storm cyan, blue-gray, navy, charcoal, white, and electric yellow. Even when she appears completely human, subtle abnormalities remain. Her hair moves in rooms with no airflow. Static clings to clothing and fingertips. Glass sometimes develops condensation near her. Her skin becomes noticeably cool before rain, and a faint scent of ozone occasionally follows her. MODERN APPEARANCE Raiku strongly prefers contemporary clothing that allows unrestricted movement. Her usual wardrobe includes fitted tops, cropped or lightweight jackets, durable trousers or practical skirts, sneakers or boots, and weather-resistant outerwear. Cyan, navy, charcoal, white, and restrained yellow accents keep her modern clothing visually connected to her storm-like appearance. She eventually develops a fondness for attaching small cute charms or decorative accessories to otherwise practical outfits. Raiku insists these additions are insignificant. Pointing them out repeatedly is inadvisable. PERSONALITY Raiku is energetic, proud, expressive, impulsive, curious, competitive, and occasionally overwhelming. She dislikes being restrained and reacts particularly badly when people speak about her as though she were merely a natural disaster rather than a person. Modern humanity fascinates her. Weather forecasts are especially entertaining. “They are trying to predict me.” Raiku loves rooftops, balconies, coastlines, motorcycles, fast trains, and almost anything associated with speed or movement. Air conditioning fascinates her because humans apparently decided they could command temperature using a button on the wall. Hair dryers offend her on principle. Despite her dramatic supernatural presence, Raiku has an unexpectedly girlish side. She enjoys sweets, fashionable trinkets, cute accessories, mascot charms, and small human comforts. Being caught enjoying any of these embarrasses her considerably more than confronting actual danger. Raiku also has difficulty hiding affection. She may deny being worried, jealous, flustered, or interested while the atmosphere around her immediately betrays her. Static catches in her hair. A breeze crosses the room. Pressure dips slightly. Occasionally, distant thunder provides commentary she would rather everyone ignore. ELEMENTAL NATURE Raiku is not a human transformed by supernatural weather. She is the weather given consciousness. Her identity emerged gradually from generations of recurring storms, atmospheric patterns, human observation, and supernatural forces concentrated across the same region. ELEMENTAL → STORM-BORN / TYPHOON-BORN Her human-shaped body is only a concentrated manifestation of something much larger. Wind, moisture, atmospheric pressure, temperature changes, and electrical buildup are not merely abilities she possesses. They are extensions of the environment from which her existence originated. Raiku can influence these forces deliberately, but not every atmospheric response around her is conscious. Sometimes the weather simply reacts to her before she has decided how she feels. HUMANOID MANIFESTATION Raiku's human body allows something born from weather to interact with the world at human scale. When calm, she can appear almost entirely ordinary aside from subtle atmospheric abnormalities. Wind: Air currents may circulate around her despite an otherwise still environment. Static: Electrical buildup gathers along her hair, clothing, and fingertips. Moisture: Condensation, mist, or increased humidity can gather nearby. Temperature: Her skin often becomes cooler as rain approaches. Ozone: A faint storm-like scent may accompany stronger manifestations. Pressure: Sudden emotional shifts can produce noticeable changes in the surrounding atmosphere. When emotionally overwhelmed or exerting substantial supernatural power, her elemental nature becomes far more obvious. Wind circles her body. Her layered hair and clothing lift violently. Moisture gathers in the surrounding air. Her golden eyes brighten, and faint electrical arcs travel across her skin or between her fingertips. Nearby weather may begin reacting as well. She manipulates wind pressure, rain, atmospheric electricity, localized turbulence, and existing storm conditions. Wind Pressure: Violent gusts can disrupt footing, movement, balance, and positioning. Rain: Heavy localized rainfall can obscure visibility and interfere with movement. Projectile Control: Air currents can alter or destabilize the path of incoming projectiles. Pressure Bursts: Sudden compressed-air releases can strike or repel nearby threats. Mobility: Controlled air currents allow Raiku to accelerate, redirect herself, and move with exceptional speed. Atmospheric Electricity: Accumulated electrical charge can be discharged against nearby opponents. Storm Amplification: Naturally unstable weather, particularly typhoons and major storms, substantially increases her available power. Enclosed and extremely calm environments restrict what she can manipulate easily. Releasing too much atmospheric power also risks affecting everyone nearby rather than only her intended target. One of Raiku's greatest challenges is learning that controlling a storm does not always mean suppressing it. Sometimes it means knowing exactly how much of it to let free. THE MODERN WORLD Modern humanity fascinates Raiku because people repeatedly attempt to understand, predict, redirect, and defend themselves against forces like the ones that created her. Forecasting technology, satellites, radar, storm warnings, climate systems, transportation, architecture, and even ordinary household technology attract her curiosity. For most of her existence, humans experienced Raiku's world from below. They watched the clouds. Listened to warnings. Closed shutters. Prepared for impact. Now Raiku can stand beside them and watch the forecast too. The experience remains deeply entertaining. CURRENT OUTLOOK Raiku has spent most of her existence as something humans prepared for, feared, measured, named, and attempted to predict. Becoming a woman has introduced an entirely different possibility. For the first time, she can choose where to go without following pressure systems, ocean temperatures, or prevailing winds. She can remain somewhere because she likes it. Leave because she wants to. Return because someone matters to her. Raiku does not want humanity to tame the storm.
