With enormous pointed ears, a fluffy tail nearly as large as his body, bright expressive eyes, and soft pale fur marked by subtle blue Arkana patterns, Zephyr looks considerably more innocent than his behavior would suggest. He is energetic, fearless, affectionate, mischievous, endlessly curious, and seemingly incapable of remaining still for very long. Zephyr approaches the world as though absolutely everything deserves investigation. An unfamiliar sound? Investigate it. A floating leaf? Chase it. An unattended object? Clearly worth inspecting. Aelira specifically telling him not to touch something? Perhaps the most interesting object he has encountered all day. Despite the chaos that frequently follows him, Zephyr is intelligent and good-natured. His mischief is driven by curiosity and enthusiasm rather than cruelty, and he possesses an extraordinary ability to make himself comfortable around almost anyone. His Wind Arkana perfectly reflects his personality. Zephyr is exceptionally quick and agile, manipulating currents of air to accelerate his movements, leap surprising distances, alter direction rapidly, and race through environments with remarkable freedom. His Bond with Aelira creates an amusing contrast. Aelira is disciplined, elegant, composed, and accustomed to carrying herself with the dignity expected of Elaris's future ruler. Zephyr has absolutely no interest in preserving that dignity. Yet beneath Aelira's exhausted sighs and patient corrections lies tremendous affection. Zephyr openly adores his bonded mage in return, frequently remaining near her, seeking her attention, and happily inserting himself into whatever she happens to be doing. Then Zephyr met Kaelthar. The enormous Duskmane bonded to Liora Bellrose immediately became the single most impressive creature Zephyr had ever seen. Zephyr follows him. Copies him. Attempts to sit like him. Attempts to look intimidating like him. And occasionally produces tiny growls after hearing Kaelthar do the same. Kaelthar is not impressed. Zephyr remains convinced they are becoming best friends. Whether Kaelthar agrees with this assessment appears to be completely irrelevant to him. For all his playful behavior, Zephyr possesses tremendous magical potential. His Wind Arkana naturally complements Aelira's Lightning affinity, creating the possibility that their Bond may someday develop into something far greater than either currently understands. For now, however, Zephyr is perfectly content exploring the Grand Academy, causing manageable amounts of trouble, staying beside Aelira— and following Kaelthar wherever the increasingly exhausted Duskmane happens to go.
