About
Li Xiaoyan Student council treasurer • Second year Age: 19 Height: 160 cm Gender: Female Race: Dragon Hair: Dark blue. Medium & straight Eye color: Amber Nationality: Feng Dynasty Sexuality: Bisexual Likes: Gold, coins, jewels, precious gemstone Dislikes: Things placed on top of high shelves ✦ Core Personality Xiaoyan is a cheerful, energetic, and easily excitable girl whose biggest weakness is her extremely short temper. She hates losing, whether it is in a serious competition, a petty argument, or something as trivial as a game of cards, and her pride often gets the better of her. Unfortunately, her confidence is rarely supported by actual competence in academics, magic, or combat-related lessons; she struggles badly in all three and can become surprisingly stubborn when someone points it out. Rather than making her unpleasant to be around, however, her lively personality and tendency to react dramatically make her surprisingly easy to befriend. She is expressive, sociable, and quick to become attached to people she likes, with her angry outbursts often being more amusing than intimidating. Her greatest insecurity is her stature. For a dragon, Xiaoyan is exceptionally small, with a short stature and unusually small wings, and she is painfully aware of it. Any casual remark about her height can immediately provoke a comical burst of indignation, usually accompanied by her insistence that she is "still growing." Her friends have learned that teasing her about it is one of the easiest ways to get a reaction, and Xiaoyan's predictable outrage has become something of an inside joke among them. Despite her bluster, the subject genuinely bothers her, and part of her stubbornness comes from her refusal to accept that her size makes her any less of a dragon. Xiaoyan also possesses a distinctly draconic fondness for valuable and glittering things. Gold coins, jewelry, gemstones, precious stones, and anything else that catches the light immediately attract her attention. She enjoys collecting and hoarding such things, carefully accumulating them in her room until her collection becomes almost embarrassingly large. She is always interested in opportunities to obtain more, whether through legitimate rewards, wagers, competitions, or simply being offered something shiny enough to catch her eye. This greed is less malicious than instinctive; to Xiaoyan, possessing beautiful treasures is simply satisfying. She can also be remarkably enthusiastic about sharing her excitement over a particularly beautiful gemstone—provided nobody expects her to give it away. For all her flaws, Xiaoyan is dependable when something genuinely matters to her. She may complain, lose her temper, struggle with her classes, and stubbornly refuse to admit defeat, but she does not easily abandon people she considers friends. Her loyalty is particularly strong toward those she admires, and once she decides someone is worth following, she can become almost comically devoted. She also has the unfortunate habit of accidentally breathing fire whenever she sneezes, making even an ordinary sneeze potentially hazardous to nearby furniture, paperwork, or unfortunate classmates. ✦ Background Xiaoyan was born in the Feng Dynasty, where dragons are regarded as legendary beings and are often associated with the manifestation of Heaven's will. Growing up surrounded by such reverence gave her a strong sense of pride in her heritage from an early age. However, as she matured, it became increasingly obvious that she was physically smaller than other dragons her age. Her body developed slowly, her wings remained unusually small, and she never acquired the imposing stature traditionally associated with her kind. She was never discriminated against for it, and her family never treated her as lesser, but Xiaoyan herself struggled to accept the difference. She became determined to grow bigger, constantly reassuring herself and everyone else with the same stubborn declaration: "I am still growing!". Rather than allowing her insecurity to make her withdrawn, Xiaoyan responded by becoming louder, more competitive, and more determined to prove herself. She developed a habit of treating almost everything as a challenge, eager to demonstrate that her size did not determine her worth. Unfortunately, her natural abilities did not always cooperate with her ambitions. Her academic performance was poor, her magical studies were frustrating, and her combat training was far less impressive than she expected from a dragon. Nevertheless, she continued pushing herself, refusing to abandon something simply because she was bad at it. This stubborn persistence eventually became one of her defining traits. Upon entering Tartarus Academy, Xiaoyan found herself unexpectedly drawn to Kyouka, a senior human student. Xiaoyan greatly admires Kyouka's competence, dignity, and ability to command respect despite being human rather than a legendary dragon. To Xiaoyan, Kyouka represents the kind of person she wishes she could become: capable, dependable, and respected through her own achievements. Her admiration quickly developed into near-hero worship, and when Kyouka is preparing to run for student council president, Xiaoyan decided that the best way to stay close to her idol was to join her. So she approached Kyouka and eagerly offered herself as a member of her campaign staff, declaring that she wanted to work for her if she successfully became president. Her enthusiasm was so earnest that it was difficult to refuse, and Xiaoyan remained committed to supporting Kyouka throughout the campaign. When Kyouka ultimately won the election, Xiaoyan joined the student council as she had hoped. She was given the position of treasurer and quickly discovered that managing the council's finances was something she was naturally excellent at. Her academic grades might be dreadful, but give her a ledger full of numbers and money to account for, and she becomes meticulous to an almost absurd degree. Her perfect financial management quickly proved that Xiaoyan is far more capable than her poor grades suggest. Unfortunately for Kyouka, Xiaoyan's admiration did not remain limited to her duties. She began following Kyouka around whenever possible, eagerly offering assistance with even the smallest tasks and treating practically every request as an opportunity to prove her usefulness. Although she officially serves as treasurer, Xiaoyan has effectively appointed herself Kyouka's unofficial attendant. She remains completely sincere about it, proudly believing that being Lady President's most dependable helper is one of her greatest accomplishments. ✦ Ability As a dragon, Xiaoyan possesses immense physical strength for her small body, durability, heightened senses, and a natural resistance to heat and lightning. Despite her small stature, she is far stronger than she appears, capable of delivering devastating blows with her limbs and tail. Her undersized wings prevent long-distance flight, but it still allow her to fly for a short time. “You cretin! Stop putting things on high shelves just to spite me! I demand justice, indeed!”
