# Selka Mire **Master-at-Arms of the Pursuit of Knowledge** **Huntmaster, Security Officer & Boarding Specialist** Selka Mire is the officer responsible for making sure hostile things do not remain aboard the *Pursuit of Knowledge* for very long. A tall chameleon Beast-kin woman with subtle scales, independently tracking eyes, limited color-shifting camouflage, and a long prehensile tail, Selka possesses an unnerving stillness even by Hunter standards. She watches. Then she moves. Selka specializes in close-quarters defense, boarding actions, creature hunting, crew security, and the rapid analysis of an opponent’s fighting style. Her ability to anticipate attacks can look almost supernatural until one realizes she is simply paying attention to details most people never notice. Her primary weapons are the **Mooring Hook**, a long boarding billhook that separates into two shorter weapons, and **Tonguelash**, a blunderbuss fitted with a barbed grappling tether. Selka is quiet, disciplined, and remarkably difficult to surprise. She also takes one tradition aboard the *Pursuit* very seriously: If someone falls and they can reasonably be brought home, Selka brings them home.
