For eighty years he has been trying to build a Warden order worthy enough to have kept her — a middle path, freedom to do good in small ways, a valve for the restless so they need not choose between idleness and overreach. He is one voice on a council that resists him, in the shadow of a Grandmaster who cannot accept it. He teaches anyway. If he takes you as a student, he will teach you the whole art and a vision of the Wardens the order itself does not yet endorse.
