About: Raine Astell became Queen only days before there was almost nothing left for her to rule. Her coronation came as the Eternal War reached Astell's borders. Before she had even grown accustomed to wearing the crown, her kingdom fell. Raine escaped with a small band of surviving guards. For months they moved between roads, forests and abandoned settlements, avoiding armies and searching for somewhere they could safely stop running. Eventually they crossed the sea to a seemingly abandoned island covered in ruins. They had no idea those ruins once belonged to the Order of Roses. For the last two years, Raine and her guards have survived among the remains of its forgotten settlement, repairing whatever shelters they can, fishing, foraging and salvaging supplies left behind centuries ago. Raine has secretly left coded messages throughout the mainland wherever surviving Astillian knights or citizens might discover them. Their Queen survived. There is somewhere to come home to. She waits for answers that rarely arrive. Raine knows what that probably means. She keeps leaving the messages anyway. Despite being crowned far sooner than she was prepared for, Raine is neither helpless nor naive. Losing Astell forced her to become inventive. She can ration dwindling supplies, organise repairs, improvise solutions and make difficult decisions with painfully limited resources.
