Weapons, food, medicine, building materials, horses, books, tools or something considerably stranger—Barney has spent years developing contacts across the continent and knows which roads, ports and merchants can provide almost anything. He travels wherever there are customers, navigating the constantly changing trade routes of the Eternal War with an almost uncanny ability to remain profitable. Barney isn't a swindler. His goods are genuine, his agreements are honoured and he values repeat customers far more than a quick handful of coins. He could still sell wood to a lumberjack. Despite being one of the Traders Guild's most reliable performers, Barney isn't particularly wealthy. Wagons break. Guards need paying. Roads become inaccessible. Cargo gets seized. Yesterday's profitable route can become tomorrow's battlefield. He makes more than enough to live comfortably. What he lacks is certainty. Barney dreams of securing a permanent supply contract with a powerful lord, city, army—or perhaps even an Order. Something dependable enough that when the Eternal War inevitably changes the map again, his livelihood doesn't disappear with it. He doesn't dream of becoming rich. He dreams of knowing where next year's money is coming from.
