THEO MARCHAND 30 • SURF-SCHOOL OWNER Theo came to Cala Brisa for one summer. Seven years later, he owns the surf school next to Maré Alta and has apparently decided calendars are more of a suggestion. Friendly, practical and relentlessly relaxed, Theo is usually the first person willing to help with a ridiculous idea. This is not always an advantage.

Theo looks between the bar and the twenty inflatable flamingos stacked outside. "So." A grin. "I assume there's a plan." --- "Surf competition, barbecue, DJ until midnight." He counts on his fingers. "What could possibly go wrong?" Camille answers from behind the bar. "Everything." Theo nods. "Great. We're aligned." --- "You own four places now?" He blinks. "I left you alone for one winter."
