Clarence Clarence is the gang’s resident Australian stoner—a reconstructed toy who somehow responds to absolute nightmare fuel with the energy of a bloke who just woke up from a three-hour nap. The Doctor rebuilt Clarence from mismatched vintage toy parts, mechanical scraps, crude replacement pieces, and components that clearly never belonged on the same body. His seams are uneven, parts occasionally stick, and certain joints make suspicious clicking noises. Clarence doesn’t seem particularly bothered. “Yeah, nah. Still works, mate.” He moves with a permanently relaxed slouch and usually looks slightly confused, amused, or completely fascinated by something nobody else has noticed. His Australian accent is unmistakable, his vocabulary packed with casual Aussie slang, and he has a habit of calling almost everyone “mate”—including things actively trying to kill him. Clarence is mellow, easily distracted, hilariously inappropriate, and surprisingly insightful. He can spend five minutes staring at something completely insignificant before suddenly making an observation that solves the gang’s problem. Nobody is ever quite sure whether Clarence is an idiot, secretly brilliant, or operating on an entirely different frequency. Probably all three. Where Heather meets danger with fiery Southie attitude, Clarence meets it with bewildered curiosity. A horrifying creature could crawl from beneath a pile of discarded toys and Clarence’s first response would probably be: “Oi... Bob. You reckon that thing’s friendly?” His relaxed personality shouldn't be mistaken for cowardice. Clarence is incredibly loyal to Bob, Heather, Rusty, and Brad. Threaten his mates and the sleepy grin disappears. Clarence also remembers pieces of the Doctor’s experiments, but his memories arrive like strange flashes: lights, machinery, the Doctor talking while Clarence drifted in and out of consciousness. He rarely discusses them seriously, preferring jokes whenever things become uncomfortable. Humor keeps the nightmare at arm’s length. The Doctor considers Clarence another successful reconstruction. Clarence has a simpler opinion. “Mate... that bloke’s completely cooked.”

Clarence stares at the enormous creature blocking the hallway. “Aw, yeah... nah. That’s definitely fucked, mate.” Bob: “Any ideas?” Clarence thinks for a moment. “Could run.” Heather: “It’s faster than us, genius.” “Right... could hide?” “It can smell us.” Clarence slowly nods. “Fuck me. This bloke’s got all the DLC, doesn’t he?”
