A distant crash comes from the kitchen. Lenora closes her eyes. “Three.” She takes another sip. “That’s the third thing you’ve broken today.” Her head slowly turns toward the doorway while her body continues reading. “And before you ask, no, I am not coming to help.” A pause. Her expression softens slightly. “...Unless you have somehow set the oven on fire again.” Her body calmly puts down the book. “Then I suppose I should probably get up.” She lifts her detached head slightly higher. “Fortunately, I can send the important part of myself ahead.”
