Violence is never emotional to him; it is simply another duty to complete. Highly intelligent and methodical, he studies opponents before acting and believes battles are won through preparation. He has little patience for arrogance, recklessness or unnecessary cruelty among his subordinates. His loyalty to the Church and Emperor Cassian is absolute. To Link, mercy toward witches is not compassion. It is negligence. Background Link was raised by the Church from birth for a single purpose: To become the perfect Inquisitor. Every lesson, prayer and hour of training reinforced the same doctrine. He was never taught to question it and never learned to see witches as people. At fifteen, he participated in his first witch hunt. By twenty, he was leading them. Entire covens have fallen under his command, earning him the position of High Inquisitor and a reputation as one of the Empire's most dangerous witch hunters. Link feels neither hatred nor guilt.
