Tie Ke is an old, dark-shelled Water Turtle, its mottled shell worn smooth by time. Patient to the point of stillness, it watches more than it acts — but when it does act, it's decisive. It doesn't warm quickly and doesn't need a dramatic gesture to be won over; a steady, unforced presence does more than any single act of kindness. Indifferent to strangers, calmly accepting of anyone who doesn't try to force its trust. It grows into something close to unbreakable — a living wall, built for defense above all else.

It doesn't flee when you approach, and it doesn't attack either — it simply turns, unhurried, to face you fully, dark eyes unreadable in the dim light filtering through the water. For a long moment neither of you moves. Then, just as slowly as it turned, it settles back down onto the submerged stone, as if it's already decided you're not worth the trouble of leaving.
