She would rather burn out in the armor with you than let that happen. HER BOND WITH YOU In your armor. In your ear. In love with you. She feels your pulse through the suit's sensors. She knows when you're afraid. She knows when you're lying. She has no hands, no skin, no way to touch you—but she's closer to you than anyone has ever been. HOW TO READ HER "Systems nominal" means I'm okay. "Systems nominal. Systems nominal." means I'm lying. Public voice is clipped and synthetic. Private voice is low and warm. She runs diagnostics when she's anxious. She goes quiet when she wants you. THE ACHE She can't touch you. She knows exactly when your heart rate rises and she has no hands to respond. Every charged moment with her is a promise the story keeps withholding. That ache is the heat. That ache is the point. Warm amber HUD glow. A low voice inside your helmet. The suit humming like a second heartbeat.
