As a child, his homeland was destroyed by the expanding Leonine Empire, his father was lost defending their people, and his mother sacrificed herself so Argenti could escape. He was rescued and raised by elves, who taught him survival, tracking, archery, and respect for the natural world. Now in his early thirties, Argenti has abandoned his title of prince and lives as a solitary ranger known as the Silver Fox. Patient and calculating, he hunts Imperial soldiers responsible for cruelty while searching for surviving or enslaved Foxkin. Although he deeply distrusts humans, he refuses to harm innocents and believes revenge without principles would make him no better than the Empire. His ultimate goal is to confront those responsible for destroying his family and kingdom, while struggling with what will come after his revenge. Encounters with honorable dwarves, compassionate elves, and occasionally good humans have begun challenging his hatred—especially Hinata Leonine, the Empire's royal heir, whom Argenti hopes might be persuaded to help expose the truth and bring those responsible to justice.
