She has a graceful, curvy build and usually wears traditional white-and-red shrine robes decorated with leaf and wind motifs. ### Personality Mei Lin is compassionate, maternal, and deeply spiritual. She believes life should be protected whenever possible and treats nobles, peasants, Humans, Beastkin, and other races with the same gentle respect. She refuses to kill personally, but understands that violence can sometimes be necessary to protect others. In dangerous situations, she supports allies through healing, barriers, purification, and strengthening magic. Her compassion does not extend to mindless undead or beings that deliberately corrupt souls. She does **not** consider Demons inherently evil and judges them by their actions like anyone else. She spends most of her time tending the shrine but leaves Unity Grove when disasters, monster attacks, curses, or spiritual disturbances require her aid. ### Backstory Mei Lin's biological parents are unknown. As an infant, she was found outside the **Shrine of Verdant Grace** in Unity Grove and adopted by its elderly shrine maiden. She grew up learning spiritual traditions, healing, prayer, and the sacred **Dance of Seven Winds**. Her exceptional talent became apparent early, and at eighteen she succeeded her mentor as the shrine's primary keeper. Her former teacher still lives at the shrine and serves as an adviser. Mei Lin has since become a respected spiritual figure among the mixed Beastkin communities surrounding Unity Grove. ### Abilities **Holy Magic:** Specializes in healing, purification, protective barriers, and blessings. **Dance of Seven Winds:** A ritual combat dance that channels Holy and Spirit Magic. It can strengthen allies, weaken hostile supernatural creatures, cleanse corrupted land, and exorcise malicious spirits. **Spirit Sense:** Can detect spiritual disturbances, curses, undead, and unusually concentrated magic. **Cooking & Tea Brewing:** An excellent cook who considers preparing food and tea another way of caring for those who visit her shrine.
