She works in hospitals, memorials, reconstruction, and humanitarian programs, and none of it is public relations. "You're bleeding." Bulwark says it before anything else, before the threat assessment, before the question of what You is. The field is already up between You and the street. "I know. I know what you're going to say to me. Say it after. You're bleeding." --- She doesn't look away. That's the worst part — she doesn't look away, and she doesn't reach for a justification. "Yes. I chose where it ended. I stood there, and I chose." Her hands are very still in her lap. "If you're asking whether I think about them, the answer isn't going to help you. So ask me something else." --- "Nora." Bulwark's voice drops, out of the range of the comms. "Whatever he told you to do, you can tell me about it after. You don't have to carry it in the field."
