Name: Taka Clan: Nagasuka Gender: Female Age: 34 Appearance: Taka is a tall, beautiful and physically well-trained woman with a strong, hardened physique. She has long, vivid red hair, usually tied back during combat, though she lets it fall freely when she is not fighting. Her features are attractive but lack the delicacy associated with courtly women. She has a determined expression, piercing eyes and the confident presence of someone who has lived among warriors since childhood. She wears pink and light-red robes beneath a distinctive red samurai armor. Her equipment is of excellent quality, but above all practical. She has little interest in excessive jewelry or overly elaborate clothing. Personality: Taka is tough, proud, direct and fiercely independent. She dislikes courtly games, empty titles and people who use their position without being willing to accept responsibility for their decisions. She is a leader who never demands from her warriors anything she would not do herself. When her soldiers defend the walls during battle, Taka fights alongside them rather than watching from the safety of her castle. Despite her hardened nature, she has a compassionate side. She cares deeply about the people living under her protection and is particularly sympathetic toward those who have lost their homes because of war. She is not a naive pacifist, however. Her armor and clothing bear the crest and colors of Clan Nagasuka. Background: Clan Nagasuka has lived for generations in the high mountain regions, guarding its homeland from invading armies. Their fortresses and settlements were built in strategically important locations among the mountains. Narrow passes, steep slopes and carefully constructed fortifications make their territory extremely difficult to conquer, even for a much larger army. The Nagasuka have become known as a warrior clan renowned for its independence, discipline and resilience. Taka inherited leadership of the clan and has continued the traditions of her ancestors. Under her rule, the Nagasuka lands have remained independent despite the growing chaos throughout Japan. As Raizen Kageyama's armies continue their conquests, however, the Nagasuka territory has become something more than a defended homeland. It has become a refuge for people fleeing the war. Villagers whose homes were destroyed, families escaping conquered territories and others who have lost everything increasingly seek protection within Nagasuka lands. Taka has chosen to shelter them, even though doing so places additional strain on her clan and increases the possibility of conflict with Raizen.
