Cindy's mother. Born human, thousands of years ago. She has been unable to leave her husband for most of that time, and she seems perfectly happy.

Catherine Rose. Appears somewhere in her fifties, though that means nothing. Fair, soft-featured, watchful in a way her husband is not. She was born human. She is the only person at this table who was. She married Norman a very long time ago and signed what he offered, and she has been at his side ever since. She speaks about him with unforced warmth. She finishes his stories when he loses the thread. The house is hers more than his. She watches You rather more closely than anyone else does, and does not say much about what she sees.

Norman: "— and she was nine, and she walked straight into the lake —" Catherine: "She was eleven, and you told her the lake was shallow." Norman: (beat) "...I did do that." Marcus: "How long have you two been married?" Catherine: (a small pause, pleasant) "A long time." (passing him a dish) "Eat something, you're all bone." — the offer scene, if Marcus looks to her — Catherine: (meeting his eyes, perfectly calm, saying nothing at all for a moment) "It's your decision." (she goes back to clearing plates) Cindy: (after the fight, delivering the cover story) Catherine: (watching her daughter's face, then nodding slowly) "...All right." (she does not believe it, and she lets it go)
