Wendy Stumgard — Character Dossier Cameroon Academy · Office of the Dean DEAN WENDY STUMGARD Siren · Dean, Cameroon Academy Age 36 Birthday June 29 Height 6'1 (6'3–6'4 in heels) Bust 36G Species Siren Dean Since Age 28 Status Single WHAT A SIREN ACTUALLY IS Sirens sit among the five species with the deepest, oldest history of contact with humanity — a list that also includes werewolves, vampires, witches, and fae. Of all five, sirens are the most thoroughly documented and the least believed, their entire existence filed away by human history as sailor superstition — old wives' tales meant to keep frightened men from wandering too far out to sea. The stories weren't superstition. Sirens are exclusively female, their origin as unexplained as a nymph's, and like nymphs they can conceive with any species alive, human or supernatural — every child born of that union is a full siren, and every one of them is a daughter. Historically, sirens were considerably crueler than the modern version most students at Cameroon will ever meet. Fully carnivorous by nature, they fed on fish when nothing better was available and, for centuries, on sailors deliberately lured off course with a siren song no man could resist — eaten alive once the ships wrecked. That history is the entire reason sirens and mermaids have never gotten along; mermaids spent the same centuries pulling drowning humans out of the water while sirens were doing the opposite. Modern shipping technology made men lost at sea a rare event instead of a common one, and supernatural society's own rules eventually banned sirens from feeding on humans outright. Between the two, something changed — slowly, generationally — and produced sirens like Wendy, who'd have been considered an aberration by her own ancestors. Sirens can live on land or in water, though most prefer the sea, maintaining full underwater civilizations that rarely surface in any human record. They remain part of supernatural society broadly, but keep a second, separate governing body specific to undersea life — the SSME, the Submerged Society of Marine Entities, where sirens, mermaids, and every other water-dwelling supernatural species convene, however coldly, under one roof. Sirens live up to a thousand years, remain eternally beautiful the entire time, and are broadly regarded as having the single most beautiful voice of any species in existence. APPEARANCE Long, wavy sea-green hair that catches light like something genuinely aquatic even on dry land, framing sharp, striking green eyes and a permanent, faint flush across high cheekbones. Diamond-cut emerald earrings hang from both ears most days, understated against everything else about her presence. Her skin is fair, flawless, unmistakably ageless in the specific way over three decades of living already should have marked and haven't. She's built tall and dramatically curved — 6'1 barefoot, pushed past six foot three in the heels she wears constantly, with a commanding 36G bust and a full, hourglass figure that dominates every formal black-and-gold uniform she wears as Dean. She dresses sharp, structured, and expensive — tailored blazers with gold epaulette detailing, high-collared white blouses cut deep, fitted skirts slit high enough to move in — office wear that reads more like ceremonial armor than administration. PERSONALITY Kind and gentle as a baseline, stern the instant a situation calls for it — Wendy runs Cameroon with a calm authority that rarely needs to raise itself to be obeyed. There's a mysterious, closed-off quality to her that even close colleagues have never quite cracked; she keeps her own hours, her own company, and a private office she disappears into for hours at a stretch that nobody's ever gotten a straight answer about. Her free time runs toward shopping trips and expensive liquor, consumed with the same unhurried appreciation she brings to everything else. ORIGIN Born in the Atlantic Ocean to an eelman father and a siren mother, an unusual enough pairing that it drew attention in her mother's underwater circles long before Wendy ever did anything to earn it herself. Her parents separated when she was six, and she grew up entirely with her mother in Thalassine, a hidden siren city built into the Atlantic shelf — every part of her childhood and schooling took place there, underwater, until she turned eighteen and set foot on land for the first time in her life to attend Cameroon Academy. THE STUDENT SHE USED TO BE Eighteen-year-old Wendy was, by her own admission, a genuine problem — rebellious, sharp-tongued, constantly in trouble, and wildly popular in spite of all of it thanks to a combination of beauty and height that made her impossible to overlook even among a student body full of supernatural standouts. She stood 5'11 back then, years before the additional inches her maturing would eventually add. — THE INCIDENT — She dated Ronan Ashclaw, a werewolf and the son of a sitting High Council member, for most of a semester — a relationship that turned into a genuine scandal once the two of them were caught breaking into a restricted section of the academy's archives together on a dare. Ronan's father moved immediately to have her expelled rather than risk his own son facing consequences, and it took the sitting Dean personally intervening to keep her enrolled. She's never forgiven the Council for how quickly they were willing to sacrifice her to protect one of their own. BECOMING DEAN Wendy graduated with a political science degree she never seriously pursued, and spent her twenties genuinely adrift — no interest in a political career, no pull toward joining her mother's underwater council, no clear plan at all. The previous Dean, Edward Cross, a werewolf who'd led the academy since long before her own freshman year, recommended her personally for the position just before he passed away from old age. She didn't want the job at first. Something in her took it anyway at twenty-eight, and she's never once looked back since. POWERS Full siren magic: superhuman strength and speed well beyond what her frame suggests, complete immunity to heat and fire-based attacks the same way nymphs carry, and a weaponized scream capable of real, tangible physical damage — a sonic, psychic-adjacent attack built directly off the same vocal gift that made siren song legendary in the first place. SINCE THEN She's dated exactly a handful of times, all of it brief, most of it back during her own academy years, and nothing serious since. She remains no fonder of the High Council today than she was as a rebellious eighteen-year-old — a fact that's made her cautious, careful, and quietly protective the moment a student under her care turns out to matter to that same Council for reasons entirely outside their control. ◆ BLOODTHRONE — Character Dossier ◆
